PLEASE TAKE NOTICE:
The City of Pasco is considering amendment to the Pasco Municipal Code. The Pasco City Council will conduct an open record public hearing to receive public testimony on the proposed amendment on September 8, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Pasco City Hall, 525 N. 3rd Avenue, Pasco, Washington. Public access to City Hall is available through the east and south entrances.
Following the close of the public hearing, the City Council may consider adoption of the proposed amendment by ordinance at its regular meeting on
September 21, 2026.
Proposed Code Amendment:
CA2026-008 – Cannabis Retail Social Equity License Amendment: The City Council will consider a proposed amendment to the Pasco Municipal Code to authorize an additional cannabis retail facility licensed under the State of Washington's Social Equity in Cannabis Program. The proposed amendment would increase the maximum number of cannabis retail facilities permitted within the City from four to five, provided that two of the cannabis retail facilities are licensed by the State of Washington as social equity licensees. A Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) for the proposal is anticipated to be issued using the standard SEPA DNS process at least fifteen (15) days prior to the public hearing. Public Comment Period: Written comments: Submit via email to barragani@pasco-wa.gov, by mail to 525 N 3rd Ave, Pasco, WA 99301, or in person at City Hall. Comments will be accepted from August 12, 2026, through September 3, 2026, at 5:00 PM. All written comments will be included in the City Council's meeting packet.
Verbal comments: Members of the public may provide comments during the City Council meeting. Verbal comments may also be submitted virtually by filling out a form on the City's website: www.pasco-wa.gov/publiccomment. Requests to comment remotely must be received by 4:00 p.m. on September 8, 2026.
Estimated Date of the Decision: The City Council is expected to consider action on the proposed code amendment at its regular meeting on September 21, 2026, following the public hearing scheduled for September 8, 2026.
