NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
August 17, 2026 6:30 p.m.
The Kennewick Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, August 17, 2026, at City Hall Council Chambers, 210 West 6th Avenue, at 6:30 p.m. or as soon as possible thereafter, to receive public comment on the 2026 Periodic Update to the Comprehensive Plan, Housing Action Plan, Critical Areas Ordinance, and related Development Code amendments to align with recent changes to the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) relative to housing and parking. Staff will present their analysis and the Planning Commission will make a recommendation to the City Council on the items. Project# CPA-2026-0001 – Growth Management Act required 10-year update to the Comprehensive Plan, including the Housing Action Plan.
Project# DCA-2026-0002 – Growth Management Act required update to the Critical Areas Ordinance to align with State requirements and Best Available Science.
Project# DCA-2026-0003 – Development Code Amendment addressing required changes to Co-living, density, and STEP Housing under KMC 18.09, KMC 18.12.010_A.1, and KMC 18.12.010_A.2.
Project# DCA-2026-0004 – Development Code Amendment updating minimum parking requirements in KMC 18.36 to align with recent changes to the RCW.
