PLEASE TAKE NOTICE:
The City of Pasco is considering a proposed amendment to the municipal code. The Pasco City Council will hold an open record public hearing to receive public comment at 7:00 p.m. on May 18, 2026, in the Council Chambers at Pasco City Hall, 525 N. 3rd Avenue, Pasco, Washington. Access to the building is available through the east and south entrances. Following the public hearing, the City Council anticipates taking final action on the proposed amendment by ordinance.
Proposed Code Amendment:
CA2026-003 - Special Event Update: The City Council will consider an amendment to the city code governing special events, assemblies, and sales in public spaces. The amendment is intended to streamline the permit process, focus on life-safety priorities, and ensure appropriate staff review for code compliance, while reducing unnecessary review steps. Public Comment Period:
Written comments: Submit via email to raymondc@pasco-wa.gov, by mail to 525 N 3rd Ave, Pasco, WA 99301, or in person at City Hall. Comments will be accepted from April 27, 2026, through May 14, 2026, at 5:00 PM. All written comments will be included in the City Council's meeting packet.
Verbal comments: Members of the public may provide comments during the City Council meeting. Verbal comments may also be submitted virtually by filling out a form on the City's website: www.pasco-wa.gov/publiccomment. Requests to comment remotely must be received by 4:00 p.m. on May 18, 2026.
Determination of Completeness: The application was declared complete for the purpose of processing.
Estimated Date of the Decision: The City Council is anticipated to take action on the proposed code amendment on May 18, 2026.
