Public Notice Irrigation operations begin for the Columbia Basin Project In preparation for the 2026 irrigation season, the Bureau of Reclamation released water on March 2 at Dry Falls Dam and O'Sullivan Dam. Irrigation prep is being conducted within the Main Canal between Pinto and the Main Canal Bifurcation. When complete, Reclamation will begin to fill the Main Canal. Water delivery to the West Canal from the bifurcation is scheduled for March 18 and it's slated for water delivery on March 24 at the East Low Canal. On April 6, the gates to the Moses Lake Outlet will close and Reclamation will begin to fill Moses Lake for the 2026 irrigation season. Recreationalists on Banks Lake and Potholes Reservoir should be aware that operational activities may lead to a rapid change in conditions without obvious warning signs, and operational fill and spill activities may not be readily apparent to the casual observer.
