ROZA IRRIGATION DISTRICT P.O. BOX 810 SUNNYSIDE, WA 98944 PUBLIC NOTICE The Roza Irrigation District (Roza) will be applying aquatic weed herbicides to its irrigation canal and laterals from April 1st through October 31st, 2026, in accordance with the Washington Department of Ecology NPDES and State Waste Discharge General Permit No. WA0991000. The applications will be made to a majority of the irrigation facilities within the Roza district boundaries in Yakima and Benton Counties. The herbicides proposed to control aquatic vegetative growth are Cascade, active ingredient is Dipotassium Salt of Endothall; Teton, active ingredient is Mono (N,N-dimethylalkylamine) Salt of Endothall; Captain and Captain XTR, active ingredients in both are Copper Ethanolamine Complex; Nautique, active ingredients are Copper Ethylenediamine Complex and Copper Triethanolamine Complex; Copper Sulfate Crystals, active ingredient is Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate; and MAGNACIDE™ H, active ingredient is Acrolein. It is the responsibility of the landowner to deny treated water to their land and/or livestock. Application sites will have signs posted around the perimeter containing information according to chemical label and Ecology permit requirements, and the name and telephone number of Roza. Treatments throughout the season are posted on the district's website at www.roza.org. Waters within Roza are intended for agricultural purposes only and are not for human consumption or primary contact such as swimming or aquaculture. Irrigation facilities can be dangerous, are not for public use, and intended only for operation and maintenance personnel. Herbicides will be applied by licensed Roza personnel.
