For more than four decades, local FedEx driver Tracy Criss has been a steady presence in the community of Federal Way, showing up rain or shine through early mornings and long days. On January 23, 2026, after 42 years with FedEx, she will retire, closing a chapter that began long before smartphones and online tracking were woven into everyday life.
Tracy was more than the FedEx lady. She was the friendly wave in the driveway and the careful knock at the door—the deliverer of Milk-Bones to fur-babies who greeted her with wagging tails. She was the familiar face who learned your names, routines, and which deliveries needed extra TLC. Tracy watched neighborhoods change, businesses grow, and families expand.
Guided by the belief that how you do your job speaks volumes about your character, her 42-year legacy lives on in the homes she visited, the businesses she supported, and the troves of precious cargo she delivered along the way. Every single delivery was a Purple Promise kept.
As she steps into retirement, I extend a heartfelt thank you to the customers who made her route feel like home. Your smiles, conversations, and kindness through the years meant more than you may ever know.
