PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE Notice is hereby given that the Pierce County Planning Commission will hold a regular meeting on September 22, 2026, at 9:30 AM at the Pierce County Public Services Bldg. (Annex), Public Meeting Room, 2401 S. 35th St., Tacoma. To participate in the remote meeting option, visit Zoom.com and click 'Join a Meeting' or call 253-215-8782. The Commission will hold public hearings on the following topics: 2027–2032 Airport Capital Improvement Program The Airports Capital Improvement Program (ACIP) is a planning document prepared by Pierce County Planning & Public Works – Maintenance & Operations Division. The Pierce County 2027-2032 ACIP is the six-year program that informs the County Council, its staff, other departments, and the public about the scope, cost, funding, and status of airport capital improvement projects for the County's two airports: Tacoma Narrows Airport and Pierce County Airport-Thun Field. The ACIP is rooted in each airport's master plan which may be found here https://www.piercecountywa.gov/7216/Tacoma-Narrows-Airport-Master-Plan and here https://www.piercecountywa.gov/PLUMasterPlan. Contact: Trent Smith, Airport Manager, (253) 798-8551 Essential Light Rail Transit Facilities Development Regulations: The Essential Light Rail Transit Facilities code package, prepared by Pierce County Planning & Public Works – Long Range Planning Division, proposes to add 'essential light rail transit facilities' as a new defined use and subcategory of essential public facilities the Pierce County Code. The essential light rail transit facilities use is proposed to be allowed in specific zoning districts that align with the anticipated route of Sound Transit's Tacoma Dome Link Extension project. The proposal is intended to facilitate the County's permit review process for light rail facilities.
