City of University Place Notice of Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) The City of University Place proposes to amend the University Place Municipal Code Title 19, Zoning, by implementing new state requirements related to co-living housing and the siting of child care centers. The amendments respond to Engrossed Substitute House Bill 1998, passed by the Washington State Legislature in 2024, related to allowing co-living housing, and Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill 5509, passed in 2025, related to expanding where child care centers are allowed. This DNS is issued under WAC 197-11-340(2)(v). You may appeal this determination no later than September 8, 2026, by submitting appropriate forms and filing fees at University Place City Hall, 3609 Market Street West Suite 200, University Place, WA 98466.
