Primary Election August 4, 2026
The following districts have propositions on the ballot:
Town of Carbonado – Proposition No. 1 – Emergency Medical Services Property Tax Levy
City of Fircrest – Proposition No. 1 – Emergency Medical Care and Services
City of Tacoma – Proposition No. 1 – Funding Transportation Safety Improvements
Fire Protection District No. 10 – Proposition No. 1 – Bonds to Construct a New Fire Station
Deadlines for Current and First-time Voters - Voter Registration - Monday, July 27, 2026 is the last day for Pierce County Elections to receive online, from the DOL, or paper registrations by mail. Register online at VoteWA.gov or at the DOL. Individuals can register, transfer, or update their registration in-person through Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at the Pierce County Election Center located at 2501 S 35th St Suite C, Tacoma, WA 98409 or during extended hours at our new vote centers at Pierce College Puyallup and Sprinker Recreation Center (see days and hours below.)
How a Voter Can Obtain a Ballot – (1) Online - VoteWA.gov (2) By mail - Call us at (253) 798-VOTE (8683) and we will mail you a ballot (3) In person at the Pierce County Election Center located at 2501 S 35th St Suite C, Tacoma, WA 98409 or during extended hours at our new vote centers at Pierce College Puyallup and Sprinker Recreation Center (see days and hours below.)
Assistance to Elderly and Disabled Persons- Accessible marking units are available at the Pierce County Election Center beginning Tuesday, July 14, 2026, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. M-F. Accessible voting will also be available during extended hours at our new vote centers at Pierce College Puyallup and Sprinker Recreation Center (see days and hours below.)
Extended Hours (for last minute help) – In addition to its regular business hours, the Pierce County Election Center, 2501 S 35th St., Suite C, Tacoma, WA 98409, will also be open on Saturday, August 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Monday, August 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, August 4 (Election Day), from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Vote centers at Pierce College Puyallup (Arts & Allied Health Building, 1601 39th Avenue SE, Puyallup, WA 98374) and Sprinker Recreation Center (Rainier Room, 521 Military Rd. S, Tacoma, WA 98444) will be open during those same extended hours.
Pierce County Jail – Beginning Tuesday, July 14, 2026 eligible voters who request assistance in the Pierce County jail will be connected to elections officials for voter services (voter registration, replacement ballots and general assistance).
Public Meetings -The Canvassing Board of Pierce County, pursuant to chapter 29A.60 RCW, will hold open public meetings at the dates and times listed below. A record of the canvassing and certification meetings is available for public inspection and copying.
Accessible Voting Unit pretesting – July 15, 2026 7:30 a.m.;
Logic and Accuracy Test – July 15, 2026 9:00 a.m.;
Ballot Processing – July 16 – August 17, 2026 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; (extended hours, if necessary);
Post-Election Audit of Batches – August 6, 2026, 11:00 a.m.;
Canvassing Board Meeting – August 17, 2026, 10:00 a.m.;
Certification of Election – August 18, 2026, 10:00 a.m.;
Precinct Committee Officer–During the August 4, 2026 election the office of Precinct Committee Officer will appear on the ballot in districts where two or more candidates filed.
