City of University Place Notice of Public Hearing West Pierce Fire & Rescue proposes modifying the zoning of a 4.73-acre parcel zone Residential 1 (R1) by adding the Public Facility Overlay (PFO) zone, under application No. RZN26-0001. The proposed action would retain the R1 as the underlying zone and add the PFO as an overlay zone. The PFO would allow construction of a new fire station on a portion of the property, while the remainder of the property will remain vacant under the current proposal. The City of University Place Hearing Examiner will conduct a hybrid public hearing for the Quazi-Judicial Rezone recommendation to the City of University Place City Council for the proposal on May 28, 2026, at 1:30 P.M. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 3609 Market Place West, Third Floor.
