Public Hearing – City of Puyallup Zoning Code Amendments Wednesday, May 13, 2026 6:30 p.m., Council Chambers Puyallup City Hall, 333 S. Meridian The City of Puyallup Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider proposed amendments to Title 20 (Zoning) of the Puyallup Municipal Code. These amendments are part of a series of minor “housekeeping” updates intended to align the zoning code with zoning map changes adopted in February 2026. These changes also improve clarity, and address issues identified through recent development permit review. The proposed changes include updates to ensure consistency between the zoning map and code, revisions to allowed uses in certain mixed-use zones, and modifications to residential development standards to allow multifamily and townhouse projects to be developed as stand-alone uses. Additional amendments would increase residential density limits in select mixed-use zones and adjust regulations for certain small, exempt signs. The proposal also includes a procedural update to establish a formal appeal process for preliminary site plan decisions, addressing a gap in the current code where some projects may not have an opportunity for administrative appeal. The Planning Commission meeting will be held in person at the Council Chambers on the 5th floor of City Hall, 333 S. Meridian. The meeting can also be viewed online via Zoom at https://bit.ly/3F0WiDl. To listen by phone, call 253-215-8782 and enter webinar ID 880 7107 6968 and passcode 667666. A staff report will be available at least one week before the hearing in the Development & Permitting Services Center (2nd floor) of Puyallup City Hall, located at 333 S. Meridian, during normal business hours (9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Mon-Fri), as well as on the City’s project website. Public comments can be submitted in writing to info@puyallupwa.gov until 3:00 p.m. on May 13, 2026, or provided in-person during the public hearing. No public comments will be accepted via Zoom.
