It is the sole responsibility of the Bidder to obtain addenda, if any. Addenda information will be available on the Pierce County Procurement and Contract Services website. Pierce County accepts no responsibility or liability and will provide no accommodation to bidders who fail to check for addenda and submit inadequate or incomplete proposals.
Bid Opening Time and Date: 1:30 P.M., WEDNESDAY, April 22, 2026Bids received after 1:00 p.m. on this date will not be considered.Each Proposal (including all required attachments) shall be submitted to Pierce County by one of the following methods: 1. Electronically upload Bid Documents via https://www.piercecountywa.gov/CurrentSolicitations. Instructions for submitting Bid Documents are located under "Project Details". This is the preferred method. 2. Deliver hard copy Bid Documents in a sealed envelope with the Project Name and Project Number as stated in the Call for Bids clearly marked on the outside of the envelope, or as otherwise required in the Bid Documents to ensure proper handling and delivery. Deliver to: Pierce County, Finance Procurement Office 1501 Market Street, Suite 420, Tacoma, WA 98402 Proposals will be opened and publicly read via webcast 30 minutes after the time indicated above unless the Bid Opening has been delayed or canceled. The link for the webcast will be posted on Pierce County's website at http://www.piercecountywa.gov/CurrentSolicitations prior to the bid opening. A Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Site Visit will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the intersection of 72nd Street East and 72nd Street Court E, Puyallup WA 98371 (park along the 72nd Street East south side of the roadway right-of-way shoulder or nearby; see Pre-Bid Site Visit map). Prospective bidders will have an opportunity to view the upper Rody Creek ravine area site conditions and hear an overview of project elements from the Project Engineer. Prospective bidders shall view the lower portion of the Rody Creek ravine project work area (from Pioneer Way East), on their own time and separate from this non-mandatory Pre-Bid Site Visit. A question-and-answer opportunity will not be provided. Any resulting questions shall be submitted formally through
the project procurement portal where responses may be viewed by all prospective bidders.
This contract provides for the improvement of Rody Creek between 72nd Street East and Pioneer Way East. Work includes the installation of the following wood structure features: Floodplain Roughness Units, Toe Log Units, Sill Log Unit, and Habitat Branch Piles within the Rody Creek Channel between. Other features and work include Ravine Slope Fascines (live), channel excavation, removal of an existing rock weir, streambed gravel material, and plantings. Much of the work will be constructed below the Ordinary High-Water Mark (OHWM) and shall be completed within the permit specified in-water work windows. The work will include stream isolation and flow diversion and localized dewatering. Executing the work will require personnel with demonstratable experience in successful stream channel construction. The work also includes selective clearing and re-incorporation of all salvage woody material into project elements. Work also includes establishing and restoring staging and access areas, traffic control, erosion and sediment control, seeding,
revegetation, and other work in accordance with and described in the Plans and Specifications. Pierce County, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, (78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full
