NOTICE: ANNOUNCEMENT OF AVAILABILITY OF DRAFT PERMIT PERMIT NO: ST0006035 APPLICANT: City of Tacoma Department of Public Utilities Light Division 3628 South 35th Street Tacoma, WA 98408 FACILITY: Alder Lake Park Wastewater Treatment Plant 50324 School Road Eatonville, WA 98328 The City of Tacoma Department of Public Utilities Light Division has applied for a State Waste Discharge Permit in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 90.48 Revised Code of Washington (RCW), Chapter 173-216 Washington Administrative Code (WAC), and Federal Clean Water Act. The City of Tacoma Department of Public Utilities Light Division presently owns and operates an aerated lagoon with vegetative wetland cells and chlorin disinfection wastewater treatment plant. The plant is designed to handle a maximum monthly flow of 0.022 million gallons per day. The wastewater, following treatment, must meet the requirements of the Washington State Water Pollution Control Act (Chapter 90.48 RCW) and applicable regulations for a permit to be issued. Following evaluation of the application and other available information, a draft permit has been developed which would allow the discharge of treated municipal wastewater from Alder Lake Park Wastewater Treatment Plant to groundwater located at Latitude: 46.804264, Longitude: -122.299240. A tentative determination has been made on the effluent limitations and special permit conditions that will prevent and control pollution. A final determination will not be made until all timely comments received in response to this notice have been evaluated.
