OF PIERCE COUNTY
ORDINANCE NO. O2025-545
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT ORDINANCE NO. O2025-545, An Ordinance of the Pierce County Council Setting the 2026 Ad Valorem Tax Levies for County Roads for Levy in 2025 and Collection in 2026; and Setting an Effective Date, HAS BEEN ADOPTED.
Section 1. An increase in the regular property tax levy for the County General tax is hereby authorized for the levy to be collected in the 2026 tax year.
Section 2. The dollar amount of the increase over the actual levy amount from the previous year is $680,929.41 which is a percentage increase of 0.77836% from the previous year.
Section 3. This increase is exclusive of additional revenue resulting from new construction, improvements to property, newly constructed wind turbines, solar, biomass, and geothermal facilities, any increase in the value of state assessed property, increment value, any annexations that have occurred and refunds made.
Section 4. The total amount of the tax levied includes an estimated $17,526,602.00 allocated to law enforcement related expenses.
Section 5. These estimated property tax levies are subject to change based upon final limit calculations performed by the Pierce County Assessor-Treasurer.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that copies of this entire Ordinance are filed in the Pierce County Council Office, County-City Building, 930 Tacoma Avenue South, Room 1046, Tacoma, WA 98402, and are available Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Copies of the Ordinance are available upon request for a charge as set by Ordinance.
Ordinance No. O2025-545 was passed by the Pierce County Council on November 18, 2025. It was signed by the Executive on November 21, 2025. It became effective on December 1, 2025.
