Pierce County Planning and Public Works (PPW) Notice of Intent for NPDES Construction Stormwater General Permit CRP 5763, 122nd Avenue East from 146th Court Street East to 136th Street East Brian Johnston, PPW Environmental Resources Supervisor, 2702 S 42nd St Ste 109 Tacoma, WA 98409-7315, is seeking coverage under the Washington State Department of Ecology's (ECY) Construction Stormwater NPDES and State Waste Discharge General Permit. The proposed project, CRP 5763, is a linear transportation improvement project along 122nd Ave E beginning at 146th Ct St E and ending at 136th St E in South Hill area of Pierce County. This project involves 5 acres of soil disturbance for roadway and utility construction activities. Every effort shall be taken to ensure that sediment-laden runoff is controlled and contained. The receiving waterbody for this discharge is the Hemlock Regional Stormwater Detention Facility, which indirectly discharges into the Puyallup River. Any persons desiring to present their views to the ECY regarding this Application, or interested in ECY's action on this Application, may notify ECY in writing no later than 30 days of the last date of publication of this notice. ECY reviews public comments and considers whether discharges from this project would cause a measurable change in receiving water quality, and, if so, whether the project is necessary and in the overriding public interest according to Tier II anti-degradation requirements under WAC 173-201A-320.
