Public Notice THIS PUBLIC/LEGAL AD IS FOR A VIRTUAL PUBLIC MEETING. Notice is hereby given that Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) has scheduled a virtual public meeting regarding the Rickenbacker Causeway - Comfort Station No. 2 Sewer Connection and Virginia Key North Drainage Improvements. Project Nos. 422003-20-001 and 20240094, on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The meeting will be conducted to provide area residents and businesses with information related to the final design, and planned construction of the projects, as well as other pertinent information developed by DTPW. The project scopes are as follows: • A new sewer pump station and force main for the Comfort Station No. 2 located on Virginia Key. The scope of services also includes the abandonment of the existing septic tank system and connection to a sanitary sewer collection system nearby. • The project improvements consist of a new ocean outfall, culverts, dry retention swales, exfiltration trenches for an improved storm water management system, a new pervious block paver surface for motor vehicles. The drainage system will provide required treatment of storm water prior its discharge through pollution control box to ocean outfall.
