Public Notice The Madisonburg Water Works is proceeding with improvements to its Public Water System (PWS ID: 1407502). The name of the project is Contact Time Piping. The project proposes the construction of approximately 956 LF of 12" PVC chlorine contact piping prior to the finished water storage tank. The project involves the construction of a valve vault to accommodate a chlorine analyzer, valves, and a sample tap. Additionally, the piping will incorporate a blow-off line. The project site is located in Mile Township in Centre County, PA. The Madisonburg Water Works will be applying to the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PennVest) for project funding. User rate impacts will be determined after receipt of a PennVest funding offer, which could include both low interest loan and/or grant. The project qualifies for and is being considered by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) for an environmental review Categorical Exclusion.
