PATTON TOWNSHIP CENTRE COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA ORDINANCE NO. 2026-652 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PATTON AMENDING CHAPTER 400, ARTICLE XIV MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS BE IT ENACTED AND ORDAINED by the Board of Supervisors of Patton Township ("Township"), Centre County, Pennsylvania, and it is hereby enacted and ordained by authority of the same as follows: SECTION 1: Chapter 400, Article XIV Miscellaneous Provisions of the Township Code is hereby repealed and replaced with: Section 400-27. Pedestrian Activity Restricted It shall be unlawful for any person to stand, sit, loiter, or engage in any activity upon a traffic median or traffic island within a roadway or highway in the Township, except as necessary for crossing at a marked or unmarked crosswalk or where expressly permitted by signage or design. The Township shall install signs on each median with the following language: "No Stopping, Standing or Loitering on the Median (Ordinance 2026-652)." Section 400-28. Violations and Penalties Unless another penalty is expressly provided by the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq.) or except as herein specified, every person convicted of a violation of a provision of this chapter, or any supplement thereto, shall be liable to a penalty of $50 for the first offense, $100 for the second offense and $250 for each offense thereafter, plus the costs of prosecution. SECTION 2: In all other respects Chapter 400 and the Code of Patton Township remain in full force and effect and are not in any way affected or modified by this amendment. SECTION 3: All terms not specifically defined herein shall have the definitions that apply under the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq.).
