Blasting Schedule Gentzel Quarry Permit No. 1479401 April 1, 2026 through April 1, 2027 Notice is hereby given that Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc., having Offices at 1952 Waddle Road, State College, PA 16801, acting as a contract mine operator for Graymont (PA), Inc., having offices at 375 Graymont Road Bellefonte, PA 16823, proposes to continue to conduct blasting activity in compliance with all State and federal laws at the Gentzel Quarry, Permit No.1479401. The quarry is located in Spring Township, Centre County, on lands owned by Graymont (PA), Inc. The permit area is 254.5 acres and is situated approximately 2.75 miles west of the town of Pleasant Gap on State Route 64, set off to the southeastern side of the highway. The Mingoville Pa., U.S. geological Survey 7.5-minute topographic map contains the area described. Blasting will be conducted between the hours of sunrise to 8am, 8am to 12 noon, 12 noon to 4pm and 4pm to sunset Monday through Friday. Warning signs will be placed at every entrance to the quarry. Three warning signals, with duration of 5 seconds each will be sounded at least one minute but not more than 2 minutes prior to each blast. An all-clear signal of 10-second duration will be sounded after each detonation has been deemed safe by the blaster in charge. Prior to blast detonation access will be control to the immediate area.
