SPECIAL MEETINGS FOR THE
CENTRE REGION ACT 537 SEWAGE PLAN
SPECIAL STUDY – MEEKS LANE PUMP STATION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the University Area Joint Authority (UAJA) has prepared a Special Study to the Centre Region Act 537 Sewage Facilities Plan regarding the Meeks Lane Pump Station. The UAJA owns and operates the Centre Region's primary wastewater treatment facility, and the Centre Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) coordinates the regional planning and approval process for the Special Study.
The Special Study evaluates alternative conveyance methods within the West Patton Township portion of the sewer service area. The recommendation is Meeks Lane Alternative D, which offers the lowest project cost, eliminates three existing pump stations, and provides a safer wastewater conveyance method to support future growth. The project consists solely of wastewater conveyance improvements and does not involve new or increased discharge.
During the April 27, 2026, CRCOG General Forum meeting, to be held at 7:00 pm at 2643 Gateway Drive, State College, each Centre Region municipality will hold a special meeting to consider approval of the Act 537 Sewage Facilities Plan Update. The date of the special meeting is April 27, 2026, for the following municipalities:
State College Borough
College Township
Ferguson Township
Halfmoon Township (May 14, 2026, if quorum isn't present)
Harris Township
Patton Township
The proposed Special Study is available for public review online at www.crcog.net/Act537Plan. A hard copy will be available at the Patton Township Municipal Building, 100 Patton Plaza, State College. The public comment period is open March 23, 2026, through April 23, 2026. All interested persons are encouraged to review the Special Study and submit written comments to glauder@crcog.net.
