Brigadier Gen. (Retired) Larry H. Della Bitta and wife Janice Jonsin celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary with their wonderful family.
Both Larry and Janice were born and raised in San Luis Obispo and are both graduates from San Luis Obispo High School. Larry is the son of Lawrence and Minnie Della Bitta; and has a brother, Jack Della Bitta, and a sister, Nadine Wilson (Deceased). Janice is the daughter of Everett and Shirley Johnson, and has two brothers, Chuck and Roger Johnson (both deceased).
After a tour in Vietnam, they were married in the Catholic Chapel in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, on April 18, 1970, where Larry was stationed for three years. Upon returning to California, they settled in Sacramento, both enjoying their careers. Larry in the military and Janice teaching, which neither one thought of as jobs, they loved what they were doing. And, both earned Master’s Degrees, Larry in Business, and Janice in Education Administration.
After retirement, they came back to San Luis Obispo to be close to their daughter and son-in-law, Lesli and Stan Coelho, and their grandchildren Shawn, Heather, Alissa, Bradly, Nick, Kai, Caleb, Scott, Sonja, Tanya, Gabriel, Bailey, Isabella (Izzy), and twins, Xavier and Eli. They also have three beautiful children Jonn Jonsin, Larry Della Bitta and Kim Lambert (all deceased).
Larry and Janice have had a very happy life together, enjoying life to the fullest. The entire family, to include, their special niece and nephew, Laura (who is like a daughter to them) and Ernie, all plan to take a cruise in celebration of their long marriage. A true Celebration of Life!
