PUBLIC NOTICE: INTENTION TO SELL OR DONATE SURPLUS INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS LUCIA MAR UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT Notice is hereby given that the Lucia Mar Unified School District intends to dispose of surplus or undistributed obsolete instructional materials that remain usable for educational purposes, in accordance with Board Regulation 3270 and California Education Code Sections 60510 and 60511. Proposed Disposition: The District may sell these materials or donate them to other school districts, county free libraries, state institutions, United States public agencies, nonprofit charitable organizations, or individuals for the purpose of increasing general literacy, Any organization receiving donated materials must certify that it will not charge any person for the use of these materials. Pursuant to California Education Code Section 60510.5, qualifying entities shall have a priority right of refusal for a period of sixty (60) days following the publication of this notice. Requests for donated materials must be submitted in writing to the contact listed below no later than October 8,2026 After that date, any remaining unclaimed materials may be sold to a commercial book buyback vendor or otherwise disposed of in accordance with applicable law and Board Regulation 3270.
