PUBLIC NOTICE The San Luis Obispo Council of Governments (SLOCOG) will hold a public hearing on June 3, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in the SLO County Board of Supervisors Chambers (1055 Monterey St., San Luis Obispo) to request placement of the Local Roads First Self-Help Transportation Tax Measure on the November 2026 ballot for voter consideration. SLOCOG will consider proposing a San Luis Obispo County Local Pothole Repair, Traffic Relief, Road Safety Measure for voter consideration in the November 2026 election. The accompanying Transportation Expenditure Plan is based on extensive input from San Luis Obispo County residents and will be the guiding implementation document. The road, transportation, and circulation systems within the cities and unincorporated areas of San Luis Obispo County are of regional concern, and the quality of such systems has a direct impact on residents, visitors, agriculture, business, industry, and the general economy within the county. Available revenue, including funding from local, state, and federal sources, is not adequate to support needed maintenance, safety improvements, modernization, or construction of infrastructure required to meet current and future transportation demands. If approved by voters, the Measure and Expenditure Plan establishes a dedicated local funding source to allow San Luis Obispo County and Cities to address special and localized transportation needs while leveraging additional state and federal funding that requires a local match. The Expenditure Plan provides funding for: Local street and road maintenance, rehabilitation, and repair. • Traffic safety and congestion relief improvements. • Mobility investments for seniors, veterans, and persons with disabilities. • Safe Routes to School projects in every city and community. • Matching funds to leverage state and federal transportation grants. • Regional corridor and interchange improvements on major highways. • Bicycle and pedestrian safety, access, and connectivity improvements. Public transportation service and reliability improvements. For more information, visit: www.slocog.org, www.localroadsfirst.com, or contact James Worthley at jworthley@slocog.org. To request Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or Title VI accommodations (including translation), call (805) 781-4292 at least 48 hours in advance. IPL0341209 May 17 2026
