Notice of Provisional Appointment of Area 6 Trustee Sacramento County Board of Education On October 13, 2026, the Sacramento County Board of Education provisionally appointed Dr. Robert (BJ) Snowden as Trustee for Area 6. The appointment was necessary due to the upcoming vacancy created by the deferred resignation of Area 6 Trustee Heather Davis. On September 9, 2026, Ms. Davis announced her intention to resign from the Board effective November 8, 2026, or at such earlier time as a successor Trustee is appointed and takes the Oath of Office. This provisional appointment shall become an effective appointment unless a petition calling for a special election pursuant to Education Code Section 5091, containing a sufficient number of signatures, is filed in the office of the Sacramento County Superintendent of Schools within 30 days (by November 12, 2026) of the provisional appointment. Unless there is a special election pursuant to a petition under Education Code Section 5091, Dr. Robert (BJ) Snowden will hold office as the Sacramento County Board of Education Trustee for Area 6 until the next regularly scheduled Board election in 2028.
