NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PLACER COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION WHERE: Planning Commission Hearing Room - 3091 County Center Drive, Auburn, CA 95603 WHEN: October 29, 2026, 9:00 AM, or as soon thereafter SUBJECT: 2026 Health & Safety Element Amendment, General Plan Amendment (PLN26-00034), California Environmental Quality Act Exemption, All Supervisorial Districts NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing at the above place and time, or as soon thereafter as can be heard, to consider proposed amendments to the Placer County General Plan's Health & Safety Element and make a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors thereon. The proposed amendments would update the Health & Safety Element to reference the 2026 Placer County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (MJHMP), which is anticipated to be considered for adoption by the Board of Supervisors in early 2027; update the Health & Safety Element to reflect the most recently adopted State and Local Responsibility Area Fire Hazard Severity Zone maps; and make related administrative, formatting, and internal consistency updates throughout the Health & Safety Element. The Planning Commission will also consider whether to recommend that the Board of Supervisors determine that the proposed amendments are exempt from environmental review pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), specifically CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3).
