SUBJECT: Notice of Preparation of an Environmental Impact Report for the Proposed Gateway Park at Tahoe National Forest (PLN25-00357) Project REVIEW PERIOD: July 31, 2026 to August 31, 2026 Placer County is the lead agency for the preparation of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the proposed Gateway Park at Tahoe National Forest project (proposed project) (PLN25-00357) in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Section 15082. The purpose of the Notice of Preparation (NOP) is to provide responsible agencies and interested persons with sufficient information in order to enable them to make meaningful comments regarding the scope and content of the EIR. Your timely comments will ensure an appropriate level of environmental review for the project. Project Description: Minor Use Permit to allow rural recreation use consisting of an outdoor park, nature museum, 50 guest cabins, and winter snow play area. Project Location: 175 Nyack Place in the unincorporated Emigrant Gap community, Placer County. The site is identified as Assessor's Parcel Numbers (APNs) 062-230-012-000, 062-400-022-000, and 062-510-010-000, consisting of 112 acres.
