NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PLACER COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS WHERE: Placer County Board of Supervisors, 175 Fulweiler Avenue Auburn, CA 95603 WHEN: August 25, 2026, at 9:00 AM, or as soon thereafter SUBJECT: 2026 ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT ORDINANCE (PLN26-00038) STATUTORY EXEMPTION ALL SUPERVISORIAL DISTRICTS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Placer County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing at the above place and time to consider the recommendation of the Planning Commission, made on June 25, 2026, to adopt an ordinance amending Chapter 17 (Zoning) of the Placer County Code pertaining to accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and junior accessory dwelling units (JADUs). The proposed ordinance constitutes a countywide zoning text amendment to Chapter 17 of the Placer County Code and is intended to establish and/or maintain consistency with applicable California laws governing ADUs and JADUs, including zone districts in which they are allowed and requirements related to their development and permitting. The Board of Supervisors will also consider the Planning Commission's recommendation to determine that adoption of the proposed ordinance is statutorily exempt from environmental review pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), in accordance with California Public Resources Code Section 21080.17 and Section 15282(h) of the CEQA Guidelines, because the ordinance implements state law governing ADUs and JADUs.
