NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing at the above place and time to consider a recommendation from the Planning Services Division to make a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors regarding adoption of an ordinance amending Placer County Code (PCC), Chapter 17, pertaining to accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and junior accessory dwelling units (JADUs).
The proposed amendments to Chapter 17 constitute a zoning text amendment and are intended to create and/or maintain consistency with applicable state housing laws governing ADUs and JADUs, including by providing for their creation. The proposed amendments include, but may not be limited to, revisions and additions to PCC Sections 17.04.030 "Definitions", 17.06.050 "Land use and permit tables", 17.32.010 "Office and professional (OP)", and 17.56.200 "Accessory and junior accessory dwelling units".
The Planning Commission will also consider recommending that the Board of Supervisors determine that the proposed ordinance is statutorily exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to California Public Resources Code Section 21080.17 and CEQA Guidelines Section 15282(h) because the ordinance implements state law governing ADUs and JADUs.
