LOS RIOS COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT American River Cosumnes River Folsom Lake Sacramento City Colleges R E S O L U T I O N 2026-14 DECLARE 1410 ETHAN WAY, SACRAMENTO COUNTY AS SURPLUS AND AUTHORIZE OFFERS TO PUBLIC ENTITIE WHEREAS, the Los Rios Community College District (District) is the owner of a two-story office building located on approximately 50,965 square feet (1.17 acres) of real property located within the District, more particularly described as 1410 Ethan Way, Sacramento, CA 95825 (Ethan Way property). The real property is located on the southeast corner of Ethan Way and Hallmark Drive, one block west of Howe Avenue. The Ethan Way property is identified as Sacramento County Assessor's Parcel Number 285-0090-026-0000; WHEREAS, the District has undertaken a variety of space-saving facility changes; WHEREAS, all administrative functions in the Ethan Way property were relocated to other District facilities; WHEREAS, the Ethan Way property is now vacant; WHEREAS, the District desires to sell its interest in the Ethan Way property; WHERAS, prior to any sale, the Ethan Way property must be offered to specified entities pursuant to Education Code section 81363.5 and Government Code section 54222; WHEREAS, once the appropriate time periods described in Education Code section 81363.5 and Government Code section 54222 have lapsed, and no other offers have been made on the Ethan Way property by the entities described in said sections, the District desires to sell the Ethan Way property pursuant to Education Code section 81360, and following; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Los Rios Community College District Board of Trustees, hereby find, determine, declares and resolve as follows: 1. That all the recitals above are true and correct; 2. That the Board hereby declares the Ethan Way property as surplus because it is not now, nor will it be, needed by the District for classroom purposes; 3. That the Board hereby declares its intention to sell the Ethan Way property; 4. That the Chancellor or Designee is hereby authorized and directed to send written offers and to post and publish public offers as required by Education Code section 81363.5 and Government Code section 54222; 5. In the event public agencies listed in Education Code section 81363.5 and Government Code section 54222 express an interest in the Ethan Way property, the Board directs the Chancellor, or designee, to engage in good faith negotiations to attempt to arrive at a mutually satisfactory price and terms for the sale of the property; 6. In the event no public agencies listed in Education Code section 81363.5 and Government Code section 54222 express an interest, or any entity that does express an interest is not able to come to mutually satisfactory price and terms with the District, the Board authorizes the Chancellor or designee, to commence the next steps of the public process for the sale of the Ethan Way property Parcel under Education Code section 81360 and following.
