NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TWIN RIVERS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Board of Trustees of Twin Rivers Unified School District to receive public testimony concerning a second renewal of the General Waiver Request to the State Board of Education. This waiver is related to the sale of surplus real property commonly known as the Village 13 property, located in the Panhandle Development Area and formerly identified by Assessor Parcel Numbers 201-0320-018 and 201-0320-019 and now identified as the eastern portion of Assessor Parcel Number 201-0320-027.
On July 13, 2022, the District obtained a waiver of various provisions of the Education Code relating to the sale of real property, which would otherwise require a rigid bid/auction process. On September 11, 2024, the District obtained its first renewal of the waiver. This waiver allows the District to publicly solicit competitive proposals and select a proposal that is in the District's best interest. The District requires additional time to seek proposed offers on the property, or in the alternative, negotiate a potential land exchange involving this property.
A hearing to receive public comment will be held before the District's Board of Trustees as part of the Board's meeting to be held at 6:00 p.m. on January 13, 2026. At the conclusion of the public hearing, the District's Board of Trustees will take action on whether to submit the Second General Waiver Renewal Request.
