Notice of Public Hearing NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., York County will hold a public hearing to solicit public input on community needs and priorities for housing, public facilities, and economic development. York County will also review and solicit public comments on its Citizen Participation Plan. The hearing will be held at the York County Council Chambers located at 6 South Congress Street, York, SC 29745. At this public hearing, York County will provide the results of its needs assessment and review the eligible grant categories to meet identified needs, including the estimated amount proposed by CDBG for eligible projects that will benefit persons of low and moderate income. Communities anticipating participation in the State of South Carolina's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program must provide for participation of their citizens in the planning and implementation of community and economic development projects which involve CDBG funds, in accordance with Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended through 1987. Therefore, a Citizen Participation Plan has been developed by York County for the purpose of providing the citizens of York County with a written, detailed plan for their participation in the planning and implementation of community and economic development projects which may involve CDBG funds. The Citizens Participation Plan is available for review in the York County Manager's Office from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Persons with questions or comments concerning the public hearing or the Citizen Participation Plan may contact Emily Drummond, Grants and Budget Manager, 6 South Congress Street, York, SC 29745 (803-818-6425). A 72-hr notice for assistance is required.
