Code Laws Section 7-13-190. The office of Council Member shall be elected for the reminder of the unexpired term to commence at the next occurring City Council meeting no earlier than the Monday following the Special Election. If required, a runoff election will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Candidate Filing: Any citizen desiring to be a candidate for the above listed office(s) must be a qualified elector and resident of the City of Tega Cay. Each candidate must file a Statement of Intention of Candidacy Form with the Board of Voter Registration and Elections Office of York County during the filing period.
