EXTENSION OF BOND ORDER AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF $95,000,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION HOUSING BONDS OF THE CITY OF DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA WHEREAS, on June 17, 2019 the City Council of the City of Durham, North Carolina (the "City Council") adopted a bond order (the "Bond Order") authorizing $95,000,000 General Obligation Housing Bonds of the City of Durham, North Carolina (the "City") to pay the capital costs of housing projects for the benefit of persons of low income, or moderate income, or low and moderate income, including construction of infrastructure improvements related thereto and the acquisition of land and rights-of-way required therefor; WHEREAS, the Bond Order took effect upon its approval by the voters of the City at a referendum on November 5, 2019; WHEREAS, as permitted by the Local Government Bond Act, the City applied to the Local Government Commission to extend the Bond Order from seven years to 10 years after November 5, 2019; WHEREAS, the Local Government Commission formally entered an order approving the City's request for a three-year extension of the Bond Order on May 5, 2026; and WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on August 17, 2026 on the question of whether the maximum time period for issuing bonds under the Bond Order should be extended from seven years to 10 years after November 5, 2019; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The maximum time period for issuing bonds under the Bond Order has been extended from seven years to 10 years after November 5, 2019. Section 2. This order will take effect 30 days after its publication. The foregoing order was adopted on the 17th day of August, 2026, and is hereby published this 19th day of August, 2026.
