RFP# 179-2627-739-DDWP_FIRE_MARSH Advertisement for Bids Durham Public Schools, Durham County Sealed bids from licensed contractors will be received by Durham Public Schools in Durham, NC on Thursday, August 20, 2026 for furnishing of labor, materials, and equipment for the fire doors, fire dampers & wall penetrations at 20 elementary schools including: Increment 1: Club Boulevard ES, Easley ES, EK Powe ES, George Watts ES, Hillandale ES, Burton ES, CC Spaulding ES, Eastway ES, Forest View ES, Hope Valley ES Increment 2: Holt ES, Little River ES, Mangum ES, Merrick Moore ES, Lakewood ES, Morehead ES, Oak Grove ES, Southwest ES, YE Smith ES, Whitted School Bids will be received up to 1:00 PM from Single Prime bidders at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Deliver bids to: Durham Public Schools, Purchasing Dept, 511 Cleveland Street, Room 104, Durham, NC 27701. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days. Bid security required is 5% of the bid in cash, certified check, or Bid Bond. Performance and Payment Bonds for 100% of the contract amount will be required. Durham Public Schools reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities or irregularities. Minority Business Participation: Bidders shall note that compliance with County of Durham MBE policies and the North Carolina Statute 143-128.2 (c) are required for this project. Iran Divestment Act: Bidders shall note that the submission of a bid constitutes the bidder's certification to the State Treasurer that, as of the date of bid, it is not listed on the Final Divestment List created and maintained by the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer (the Treasurer's Office pursuant to the Iran Divestment Act of 2015, Chapter 147-Article 6E of the General Statutes of North Carolina (the" Iran Divestment Act"). Project scope: Establish a comprehensive life-safety compliance baseline for selected DPS facilities through inspection, inventory, deficiency identification, reporting, and completion of appropriate minor repairs related to fire-rated doors, fire/smoke dampers, and fire-rated penetrations and barrier assemblies. Pre-Bid Conference: Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference is scheduled for July 22, 2026 at 2:30pm at 2011 Hamlin Road, Durham, NC 27704 in the C&CP trailer. The project representative will be available to answer questions. Attendance by Prime Bidders for the entire Pre-Bid Conference is mandatory.
