Notice of Discharged Untreated Sewage The Town of Clayton had a discharge of untreated wastewater from our collection system from manhole 1996 located between 172 Veterans PKWY and the East bound exit ramp of Clayton BLVD of approximately 403,200 gallons. The discharge was found on June 9, 2026, but upon further investigation, the Town determined that the discharge was going on roughly two weeks prior with no knowledge of the incident. The untreated wastewater entered Little Creek in the Neuse River Basin. The blockage was cleared within the hour of notification of the discharge and cleanup operations started immediately.
