PUBLIC NOTICE SALE OF ORANGE COUNTY PROPERTY (Notice of Sale by Upset Bid- G.S. 160A-269) Invitation to Bid ITB 367-OC5472 An offer of $15,000.00 has been submitted for the purchase of certain property owned by Orange County, more particularly described as follows: Near 315 Buckhorn Road, identified as Tax Parcel No. 9834289281, consisting of approximately 1.18 acres of land and a power line easement Persons wishing to upset the offer that has been received shall submit a sealed bid with their offer (the amount must be stated both numerically and in words) to the following address no later than 2:00 P.M., March 31, 2026. The sealed envelope must include the following: To: Finance and Administrative Services Department – Purchasing Division ITB No 367-OC5471: Sale of Orange County Property – 108 Mollie CT PIN # 9865614458 Attn: Jovana Amaro and/ or Vivian Whitman 131 West Margaret Ln, Suite 300 Hillsborough, NC 27278 From: Name and address of the Offeror All information included in the Orange County Real Property Form must be legible. At that time the Purchasing Manager shall open the bids, if any, and the highest qualifying bid will become the new offer. If there is more than one bid in the highest amount, the first such bid received will become the new offer. A qualifying higher bid is one that raises the existing offer to an amount not less than $15,845.00 A qualifying higher bid must be accompanied by a deposit in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid. The deposit must be in the form of a cashier's check or certified check made payable to Orange County Government, NC. The County will return the deposit for any bid not accepted and will return the deposit for an offer subject to upset if a qualifying higher bid is received. The County will return the deposit of the final high bidder at closing. The buyer must pay cash at closing. The Orange County Board of County Commissioners must approve the final high offer before the sale is closed. The County reserves the right to withdraw the property from sale at any time before the final high bid is accepted and the right to reject at any time all bids.
