NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BY THE NORTH CAROLINA CAPITAL FACILITIES FINANCE AGENCY REGARDING THE PROPOSED BOND REFINANCING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to all interested persons that the North Carolina Capital Facilities Finance Agency (the "Agency") will hold a public hearing on the application of Wake Forest University, a North Carolina nonprofit corporation (the "Borrower"), for the Agency to issue, pursuant to the Private Capital Facilities Finance Act, Article 2 of Chapter 159D of the General Statutes of North Carolina, as amended, "qualified 501(c)(3) bonds" within the meaning of Section 145(a) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, in an amount not to exceed $150,000,000 (the "Bonds").
Proceeds of the Bonds will be used to (1) refund all or a portion of the North Carolina Capital Facilities Finance Agency Educational Facilities Revenue and Revenue Refunding Bonds (Wake Forest University), Series 2016, originally issued in the aggregate principal amount of $159,100,000 (the "2016 Bonds"), and (2) pay certain costs incurred in connection with the issuance of the Bonds. The proceeds of the 2016 Bonds were used to finance and refinance capital improvements located on the University's main campus and other University locations, collectively referred to as the "Projects."
The Projects being refinanced include (1) capital expenditures in an amount not to exceed $36,300,000 for additions to and renovations of the University's football stadium located at 499 Deacon Blvd., Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27105, (2) capital expenditures in an amount not to exceed $8,300,000 for the acquisition and renovation of Ernie Shore Field located at 401 Deacon Blvd., Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27105, (3) capital expenditures in an amount not to exceed $3,800,000 for the purchase and renovation of a warehouse for use as University storage located at 27 W. 30th Street, Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27105 and (4) capital expenditures in an amount not to exceed $110,700,000 for the remainder of the Projects located on the University's main campus at 1834 Wake Forest Road, Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27106. The Projects are and will be owned and operated by the University.
Please take notice that the Agency will hold a public hearing on March 27, 2026, in the Birch Meeting Room, at 3200 Atlantic Avenue, Raleigh, North Carolina, at 9:00 a.m., at which time any person may be heard regarding the issuance of the Bonds and the refinancing of the Projects.
