Public Notice – Fisher House, Durham, North Carolina NOTICE The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking information to inform consultation in accordance with the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended. VA is proposing to acquire a property in Durham, North Carolina, at the intersection of Guess Road and Grady Drive, to construct a Fisher House. A Fisher House is a temporary stay residence where Veterans and their families can stay free of charge while a loved one is under the care of a VA hospital. The Fisher House Foundation, a non-profit organization, will construct the facility. Upon project completion the building will be donated to VA. There are no known National Register of Historic Places listed or eligible properties on the proposed site.
