NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON APPLICATIONS TO GRANT AMBULANCE FRANCHISES IN DURHAM COUNTY TO JAN-CARE AMBULANCE OF MCDOWELL COUNTY, INC., MIDWEST MEDICAL TRANSPORT LLC COMPANY D/B/A NORTH STATE MEDICAL TRANSPORT, PRIORITY CARE AMBULANCE, INC, AND PROVIDENCE TRANSPORTATION, INC. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Durham County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing pursuant to Durham County Code of Ordinances Chapter 12, Article II, entitled: Ambulances, Division 2, entitled: Franchise Section 12-51 et seq. upon the application of: Jan-Care Ambulance of McDowell County, Inc. Midwest Medical Transport LLC Company d/b/a North State Medical Transport Priority Care Ambulance, Inc. Providence Transportation, Inc. to provide within Durham County non-emergency ambulances services. The hearing will be held to determine whether the public convenience and necessity require the operation of the ambulance(s) for which application for franchise is made, the board will consider and investigate the statements made in the application, the adequacy of the existing ambulance service, the financial responsibility, experience and character of the applicant, the public need for additional service, the ability of existing holders of certificates to provide any necessary additional service and any other factors pertinent to such determination. The public hearing will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, starting at 7 P.M. in the Board of County Commissioners Chambers, Old Courthouse Building, 2nd floor, 200 East Main Street, Durham North Carolina 27701 This is the 28th day of November 2025.
