Public Notice Temporary regulatory speed limit reduction on I-5, from MP 88.9 to MP 95.7, starting July 6th, 2026. The changes will be in effect Monday through Friday, between 6:00 PM and 8:00 AM. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will reduce the speed limit from 70 mph to 55 mph. During these hours, travelers can expect lane closures, shoulder closures, and a temporary crossover with single lane in each direction, to accommodate construction activities. The reduced speed limit is the result of coordinated effort between WSDOT and law enforcement to ensure safe traffic operations over a temporary roadway configuration during construction.
