City of Lacey Request for Qualifications for Roadway Design
The City of Lacey is soliciting statements of qualifications from civil engineering consulting firms with expertise in: transportation engineering, specifically urban roadway design including roundabout design. The agreement will be for approximately two years in duration with the option for the City of Lacey to extend it for additional time and money if necessary. The firm must have the ability to evaluate multiple scenarios for complex roadway geometrics. The City anticipates selecting a consulting firm for the following contract: College Street SE and 7th Avenue SE Roundabout.
Project Description
The work to be performed by the CONSULTANT consists of preliminary engineering including final construction plans and cost estimate for improvements on College St SE between Lacey Boulevard SE and Interstate 5. The proposed improvements along this section of roadway include pavement design, watermain replacement, sidewalk, landscaped planters and medians, and other roadway improvements. The proposed improvements at the intersection of College Street SE & 7th Avenue SE will include a landscaped multi-lane roundabout. College St and 6th Ave will include changes to the geometry and signal improvements. Private utilities may be undergrounded or relocated. Water, sewer, and storm mains will need to be relocated or replaced. The determination of right of way needs and a right of way plan will be needed, along with appraisal, and appraisal review. It is also anticipated that construction support may be needed. This project is fully funded by the City of Lacey.

5. Proficiency of key personnel using the latest versions of computer software such as SIDRA, SYNCRO and AutoCAD Civil 3D
6. Familiarity with City of Lacey and WSDOT/FHWA standards
