City of Tumwater "Calling for Candidates" Notice of Appointment: Tumwater City Council The City of Tumwater is seeking candidates for appointment to serve as Councilmember for Council Position No. 1. The term of this appointment is effective until the next general election of November 2, 2027. To qualify, candidates must be a currently registered Tumwater voter, a current resident of Tumwater and a resident of Tumwater for at least 12 months preceding the temporary appointment which is expected to occur January 20, 2026. Council Position No. 1 interviews are scheduled for Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Tumwater City Hall. Appointment to the City Council will require attendance at numerous regularly scheduled and special meetings, which occur in the City during the evenings, on weekends, and during the weekday. Councilmembers also serve on Council committees, regional boards and commissions, and represent the City Council at various community functions.
