Waccamaw Workforce Development Area Subsequent Designation The Waccamaw Workforce Development Board and the Chief Elected Officials of Horry, Georgetown, and Williamsburg Counties are in the process of completing a petition to be designated as a workforce development area under the provisions of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. This petition will be made to the Governor of the State of South Carolina, based on the area's history of successful performance and sustained fiscal integrity as an existing workforce area in the State of South Carolina.
