NOTICE OF ELECTION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO ALL QUALIFIED PERSONS (see qualifications below) that on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, a General Election will be held in the County of Stanislaus, State of California, for the purpose of electing members to the governing boards of the following districts. Exceptions may apply to compensation rules for volunteer firefighters. Health & Safety Code 13841; Gov Code 53227, 61040, EC 201 IRRIGATION DISTRICT: Shall be a registered voter and a landowner of the district and a resident of the division which he/she represents at the time of his/ her nomination and during his/her entire term. All irrigation districts on this list are included in the exceptions to the landowner requirements, see full text of Water Code 21100. WATER DISTRICTS who adopted a resolution to change from a landowner voting district to a resident voting district: Shall be a resident of the district and shall be a registered voter at the time of their election and during their term of office. Such directors need not be landowners. Water Code 35055 SCHOOL DISTRICT: Shall be a registered voter of the district; in the case of trustee areas, shall be a resident of the trustee area which he/she represents. An employee of a school district may not be sworn into office as an elected or appointed member of that school district’s governing body unless and until he or she resigns as an employee. Ed Code 5030 and 35107. Any registered voter is eligible to be a member of the county board of education except the county superintendent of schools, any member of his/her staff or any employee of the school district. Ed Code 1006 DECLARATION OF CANDIDACY FORMS will be available and must be filed beginning Monday, July 13, 2026, through Friday, August 7, 2026, by 5:00 p.m. at the office of the Stanislaus County Registrar of Voters, located at 1021 “I” Street, Suite 101, Modesto, California. If an eligible incumbent does not file during this period, there will be an extension of the nomination period for that specific office until Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. for anyone other than the incumbent. For information regarding filing for elective office call 209-525-5237. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that appointments to each elective office will be made in the event there are no nominees or an insufficient number of nominees for such office and a petition for an election is not filed within the time period prescribed by law. Appointments will be made pursuant to 10515 of the Elections Code or 5326, 5328 and 5328.5 of the Education Code. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that pursuant to current California election laws, all actively registered voters shall receive a vote by mail ballot. Vote centers will begin opening 10 days prior to Election Day to provide in-person voting services. Language and accessibility assistance will be available at all voting locations. Secure ballot drop boxes will be available 29 days prior to Election Day. Vote center and secure ballot box locations, dates and times will be listed in the County Voter Information Guide and posted on www.stanvote.gov. All vote centers and the county elections office will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2026. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that ballots from the November 3, 2026, General Election are to be tallied, and the canvass of the vote will be conducted at the Stanislaus County Registrar of Voters Office (central counting place) at 1021 “I” Street, Suite 101, Modesto, California, commencing no later than 9:00 a.m. November 5, 2026.
