NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CITY OF MODESTO – PROHOUSING DESIGNATION PROGRAM APPLICATION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Modesto will conduct a Public Hearing on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., or as soon as thereafter as the matter will be heard, in the Council Chambers, Basement Level, 1010 10th Street, Modesto, California. At this time, the City Council will consider adopting a Resolution authorizing the City of Modesto to apply for and participate in California Department of Housing and Community Development's (HCD) Prohousing Designation Program and authorizing the submission of the City's Prohousing Designation Application. The Prohousing Designation Program recognizes jurisdictions that have adopted policies and programs that remove barriers to housing development, support housing affordability, accelerate housing production. Jurisdictions receiving a Prohousing Designation may receive additional points or priority consideration when applying for various State housing and infrastructure funding opportunities. The draft Prohousing Designation Application and supporting materials are available for public review on the City's website at https://www.modestogov.com/m/NewsFlash/home/detail/1703. All persons interested are invited to attend the public hearing at the above time and place in person or through Zoom and will be given an opportunity to be heard.
