NOTICE OF ELECTION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Modesto on Tuesday, the 3rd day of November 2026, for the following Officers: MODESTO CITY COUNCIL Three (3) Councilmembers of the City of Modesto for the full term of four (4) years each, and which offices for the purposes of this election shall consist of and have been designated by the City Clerk pursuant to Section 700 of the City Charter: For (1) One Member of the City Council – District 2 Full term of four (4) years For (1) One Member of the City Council – District 4 Full term of four (4) years For (1) One Member of the City Council – District 5 Full term of four (4) years Candidates must have been residents of their District and registered voters for the City of Modesto for at least thirty (30) days preceding their nomination. MODESTO CITY SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION Four (4) Members of the Board of Education of the Modesto City Schools District for the full term of four (4) years each, and which offices for the purposes of this election shall consist of and have been designated by the City Clerk pursuant to Section 1500 of the City Charter: For (1) One Member of the School Board – Trustee Area 1 Full term of four (4) years For (1) One Member of the School Board – Trustee Area 3 Full term of four (4) years For (1) One Member of the School Board – Trustee Area 5 Full term of four (4) years For (1) One Member of the School Board – Trustee Area 7 Full term of four (4) years Candidates must have been residents of their Trustee Areas and registered voters of the Modesto City School District of Stanislaus County for at least thirty (30) days preceding their nomination. The nomination period for these offices begins on Monday, July 13, 2026, and closes on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Nomination papers will be available at the City Clerk's Office, Suite 6600, 6th Floor, Tenth Street Place, 1010 Tenth Street, Modesto, California, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. during the nomination period. If nomination papers for an eligible incumbent officer of the City are not filed by August 7, 2026, the voters shall have until the 83rd day before the election, August 12, 2026, to nominate candidates other than the person(s) who are the incumbents on the 88th day before the election, for that incumbent's elective office.
