NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS UPDATE OF URBAN WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN AND WATER SHORTAGE CONTINGENCY PLAN Public notice is hereby given that public hearings will be held before the City Council of the City of Modesto and the Board of Directors of the Modesto Irrigation District for the purpose of considering the following: Receive public comment on the Draft City of Modesto/Modesto Irrigation District 2025 Joint Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP), as required by the Urban Water Management Planning Act (California Water Code Section 10610 et seq.). Receive public comments on the Draft Modesto Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP). The Draft UWMP which includes the WSCP is available for public review on the City of Modesto Utilities Department website at https://modestogov.com/860/Urban-Water-Management-Plan and the Modesto Irrigation District website at https://www.mid.org/water/drinking-water/joint-urban-water-management-plan/. A public hearing will be held by the Council of the City of Modesto on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the Chambers, Basement Level, Tenth Street Place, 1010 10th Street, Modesto, California. All interested persons are invited to attend the public hearing at the above time and place and will be given an opportunity to be heard, or by submitting your comment via e-mail to ccmeetings@modestogov.com. A public hearing will be held by the Modesto Irrigation District Board on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 9:00 A.M. The meeting agenda will be posted in advance and available on the MID website. Members of the public are encouraged to attend the MID Board meeting in person to provide public comment. Public comments may also be submitted in writing by email to angela.cartisano@mid.org or board@mid.org no later than 3:00 p.m. on the day prior to the Board meeting. All timely submitted written comments will be provided to the Board for consideration. Members of the public may also observe the meeting and provide comment through remote participation options. It is anticipated that the Draft 2025 UWMP will be formally adopted on June 9, 2026 by Modesto Irrigation District Board of Directors and on June 23, 2026 by Modesto City Council and that the Modesto WSCP will be adopted on June 23, 2026 on a separate resolution by the Modesto City Council.
