Salida Fire Protection District
NOTICE OF VOTER
CONSIDERATION
To maintain and enhance current fire protection and emergency response services within the Salida community, the Salida Fire Protection District has conducted town hall meetings and public meetings to consider whether local Salida residents, property owners, and businesses would approve an updated special tax for funding fire emergency response services within the Salida community.
On January 12, 2026, the Salida Fire Protection District Board of Directors conducted a public meeting to consider placing this tax measure on the ballot for voter consideration.
If approved by voters, this additional funding would allow the Salida Fire Protection District to keep pace with inflation and offset increased operational costs for funding the deployment and equipping of professional firefighters and emergency responders.
Salida Fire Protection District has proposed that a revenue measure be placed on the June 2, 2026, ballot. The proposed measure would only become effective if it is approved by 66.67% of the local voters. If approved, all revenues would be used for fire protection and emergency response services within Salida Fire Protection District's service area.
Full text copies of the resolution and relevant materials are available for inspection by the public by contacting the Clerk of the Board at (209) 497-2389 or ddenczek@salidafire.com.
All interested members of the public are invited to review the materials, to attend District public meetings, and to provide comments.
