PUBLIC NOTICE
HEARING EXAMINERS FOR APPOINTMENT TO PANEL
The Clerk of the Board, on behalf of Miami-Dade County (County), is
accepting applications for qualified candidates to serve as Hearing Examiners
for bid protest hearings. Hearing Examiners play an important role in ensuring
fairness, transparency, and integrity in the County's competitive procurement
processes. Appointees serve a two-year term and are compensated at a rate of
$200.00 per hour, up to a maximum of $2,500.00 per hearing. Assignments are
made through a blind rotation system to promote impartiality.
Hearing Examiners are responsible for conducting bid protest hearings
pursuant to Section 2-8.4 of the Code of Miami-Dade County. Applicants should be able to review written protests, evaluate evidence, issue timely findings, and demonstrate sound judgment and high ethical standards.
Minimum Requirements:
• Retired Circuit Judges with 10 or more years of service in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit; or
• Electors of the State of Florida residing in Miami Dade County who are members good standing of the Florida Bar for at least 10 continuous years immediately preceding appointment.
Selection Criteria:
• Candidates should reflect the diversity of the community.
• Candidates must demonstrate professional competence, integrity, and impartiality.
• Candidates (lawyers) with substantial involvement in County matters will not be selected.
