NOTICE OF VACANCIES ON THE CITY OF MIAMI HOUSING & COMMERCIAL LOAN
COMMITTEE (HCLC)
The City of Miami ("City") is seeking applications for vacancies for the Housing and Commercial Loan Committee ("HCLC"), in accordance with Chapter 2, Article XI, Division 19 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"). Pursuant to Section 2-1303(d) of the City Code, no appointments to the City's HCLC shall be made until notice of the vacancies is published in a newspaper of general
circulation at least fifteen (15) days
prior to making any appointments.
The HCLC is comprised of thirteen (13) members and is authorized to approve or disapprove housing and commercial loans and grants to be provided by the City through any funds administered by the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). Those funds include, but are not limited to: Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS (HOPWA), Florida State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP), and the Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF).
At this time, the City is seeking applicants who can serve in the following capacities on the HCLC:
1. One member who is a representative of those areas of labor actively engaged in home building in connection with affordable housing;
2. One member who is actively engaged in the banking or mortgage banking industry in connection with affordable housing; and
3. One member who is actively engaged in home building in connection with affordable housing;
In addition to:
1. One chairperson nominated by the Mayor and appointed by the City Commission.
Persons who are age 18+ and interested in serving in one of the open positions must submit a completed application form, along with a CV with their qualifications. Applications can be downloaded at www.miami.gov/HCLC-AHAC, or picked up at DHCD Offices at 444 SW 2 Ave., Ninth Floor, Miami, FL 33130. Except for the chairperson category, applications received for the other categories will be reviewed by DHCD which shall then make recommendations to the Miami City Commission for final appointment by them.
